I took Maia to her neuro last weekend. There was not much change in the seizure frequency since our last visit, still at one or two a day.  She suggested to take out one from her three meds, and phenobarbital is the first option because it’s the first drug that Maia has been taking, and until now we never hit a seizure free month. My heart feels heavy, scared that monster seizures will come like a tidal wave while we are tapering.

But, I also feel a bit relieved that we are taking out one medication. This is one of those drugs that has a developmental effect in the long run.
