Summer butterflies

Once in a while I immerse myself into introspection. It is much helpful because consciously or unconsciously we have a tendency to utter words that can hurt people, even how we say it. These nasty little actions can stem from hatred, envy, or just plain resentment. I had my share of hurt and most of the time I just keep quiet.

Naturally, I am most comforted in the company of positive people. My heart smiles when I’m with them. Do choose who you’re with wisely. Negativity will bring you down, so if it’s not worth it, stay away from them. You shouldn’t feel you’re in bondage.  I’ve read that there was a study in the 1930s that nuns who expressed the most positive emotions lived up to 10 years longer than those who expressed the fewest.

Proverbs 15:1 says.. ” A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

It’s quite a challenge but it’s a valuable message to pass on.

  1. You are absolutely correct. It is amazing how quickly negative people will drag you down with them. The entire atmosphere actually becomes heavier and oppressive. It can actually feel like you are being suffocated if you spend too much time around them. Complications arise when it is a family member that you really cannot get away from or put a pause on your relationship.

I love your outfit! The contrast of the black vest offset the tiny butterflies brilliantly.

  2. Thank you for sharing those wise words. It is a challenge, but the effort is so rewarding. I still stumble at times. I am so thankful the Lord gently guides us back to the right way of thinking.

    Love,
