I found a pasta recipe as I was browsing Pinterest’s food photos. The recipe was originally named Pastitsio by LemonsforLulu. It’s supposed to be a simple Greek pasta dish, but I substituted the Greek yogurt to just plain yogurt. So these are the modified ingredients.
Why stove top? A pastitsio is a baked pasta dish, and it so happened I don’t have an oven. Period.
It’s actually simple and easy. It’s my first time to add yogurt to a recipe, and yes it makes a difference. I tell you honestly that I’m not an expert in the kitchen so I always look for easy recipes to make. I enjoy looking at only 2 to 3 ingredients, but in an attempt to make cooking fun, I experiment and try to beat my husband’s cooking haha. Anyway, this would make a nice lunch or dinner for the whole family.
INGREDIENTS:
500grams ground beef 150grams tomato paste 250ml cream 1/2 cup yogurt (you can use 1/4) 500grams penne pasta salt and pepper 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 cup grated cheese 1. Cook pasta. 2. Heat ground beef until brown and put onion and garlic. 3. Stir in tomato paste and nutmeg. 4. Add salt and pepper and cream. 5. Cook until thick. 6. Drain the pasta and mix the beef mixture. Sprinkle with cheese. Serve immediately.Enjoy the day!

Haven’t tried using yogurt in a pasta dish, on second thoughts, that should make the pasta creamy!

I never thought of adding yoghurt into pasta, my hubby would probably think this is too sour. Hehe!

Does the yogurt add to the sourness of the tomato paste? I love yogurt!

Yes, so if you are not fond of the sour taste, you can put only a little 🙂
